After graduating in economic history at the University of Liverpool, I started my career as a junior reporter at the Enfield Gazette, qualified as a senior reporter on the Brighton Evening Argus and went on to work for numerous publications in various roles over two decades, in print and online, in both the UK and Australia.
Former engagements include reporting for the Sunday Mirror, the Independent and Time Out, eight years as a senior sub-editor with the Daily Telegraph in Sydney and seven years with Newsquest, at first as a multimedia editor and then as a regional co-ordinator at the group’s UK subbing hub.
